Wolves Unlimited Inc. was formed on August 18 of 1995. The name was chosen because wolves are at the top of the food chain and exemplify an extended family of nature. We felt at that time and still do, that our children can learn a great deal from the wolf family.

Many people assumed the only thing the organization cared about was wolves. They happen to be one of my true loves, but the organization was set up for the children's wishes for the future.

On January 16, 1997 a name change was filed and approved from "Wolves Unlimited" to "Children's International Wildlife Sanctuary" per the students wishes. The students felt it better described one of the major goals of the organization.
